Maggie is a dance educator, choreographer, and certified Baby Dance ClubTM instructor with a masters degree in Dance Education from NYU Steinhardt. Before relocating to the Hudson Valley with her husband and two children, Maggie taught dance and creative movement for six years at Pine Point School in Stonington, CT. She currently serves as the Director of Fundraising for the New York State Dance Education Association and is a founding board member and teaching artist with Hudson Valley Dance Cultivators. Her favorite teaching experiences include making dances with her students and helping young dancers develop their own voice through movement.
Young dancers will move freely and joyously while learning the foundations of movement and dance making. This class will introduce Brain-Compatible Dance Education concepts such as Energy, Rhythm, and Pathway through the use of music, props, stories and play. Dancers will gain important problem- solving, collaborative and critical thinking skills as they build their own self-confidence and creative voice.
