Jodi Amato – Tap & Jazz for Youth & Adults

JODI AMATO _is so excited to be dusting off her tap shoes after a
ten-year hiatus. Jodi graduated from SUNY New Paltz with a bachelor’s
degree in Elementary Education and a Musical Theater concentration. She
has performed in numerous shows throughout the Hudson Valley and was the
owner/director of Blanche’s Off-Broadway in Kingston for 14 years
teaching tap, jazz, ballet, and hip hop before selling her studio to
focus on her family. Jodi changed careers, and for the last eight years,
has been at The Culinary Institute of America as the Director of
Academic Support Services, helping college students reach their academic
and career goals. She is looking forward to returning to the dance floor
to teach adult tap and jazz with a strong focus on musical theater style
dance. Musical theater dance is less about a particular style of dance,
but a description of dancing that is rooted in the diverse history of
Broadway musicals. Jodi’s classes will focus on everything from Fosse to
hip hop and everything in between.
