Jalen Carr, Community Theater

Jalen Carr is a Kingston, NY local. He has been performing since the age of eight years old in his first local production of the Polar Express (2009). He then continued singing in his church choir. In 2012 he was cast in his first performance at the Center for Performing Arts in Rhinebeck in “Hairspray”. Not too soon after he was cast again in “Hairspray” at Suny Ulster and local church production of “Don’t Let The Devil Ride” (2013). His junior and senior year of Highschool he was a part of the theatre program and was also cast in “Damn Yankees” (2016) “Big Fish” (2017). Returning to Rhinebeck he was cast in “Newsies”, “Mamma Mia”(2019) and played Paul in “A Chorus Line”. When he’s not performing in theatre he is playing the trumpet in Band. Since the age of 8, he has been playing the trumpet and still enjoys his craft until today. He is currently studying to become an elementary music teacher in hopes to encourage kids to be a part of their music and theatre department.
